taxpayingcityworker, oh yes WE ARE your boss. We pay your salary. You have a choice to pay national grid, but if you own property, you HAVE to pay taxes. Unfortunately the people who have been in office are suppose to be watching out for how that money of OURS is spent,a nd have done a horrible job of it. They are killing the middle class. We need to make cuts, not raise taxes. The pot is empty. The biggest media hogs I have seen in this state are the unions who scramble for air time every chance they get. Avedisian has balanced a budget on deferments, not cuts, that is not balancing a budget, that is putting off the inevitable. Warwick has not done enough to cut costs, we need to do more, like it or not. I think you will find most taxpayers feel the same at election time.

Why is every student with an IEP weighted in this way. That is crazy. Some students yes are double the work but all of them? Twenty percent have IEPs, of those students how many require double the time in every class? what about differentiated instruction?

Frank,
How many fire or police do you think are no longer working on the streets now due to last years budget cuts? After this years has taken effect there will be even less people available to respond to emergencies. Keep cutting bugets to avoid raising taxes. How many more schools do we need to cut to make the school budget balance before effecting the children. Maybe charge seniors citizens for the services they want from the senior centers too. Close the rinks and the pool after the winter season is over, therefore saving on staffing and utilities, close all branches of the libraries except Sandy Ln, lay off all personel from closed buildings.

Avedisian running the city with a surplus. It's laughable. Scottie borrowed from the rainy day fund year after year. He has been a servant of the unions. He has put us on the road to bankruptcy.
Avedisian is inept.
Avedisian is inept.

Sorry "tell it like it is" but you ARE NOT my boss despite being a taxpayer like I am also. I pay bills to National Grid but don't think I'm their boss by proxy! And by the way Mayor Lombardi is a goof ball media hog who is self-serving. He cannot walk past a camera or microphone. People like you are suckered into believing his rhetoric. Mayor Avedisian ran a nearly perfect ship here in Warwick usually with annual surpluses. But now Carcieri decides he'll withhold money to cities and towns even though he's getting the usually $4 Billion from federal government. How come nobody talks about the $4 billion annual federal aid? Carcieri is simply balancing his budget (trying to at least) on the backs of the cities and towns. Bull----!
