Re-Focus, Inc., a non-profit human service agency, offering people with developmental disabilities rich opportunities for personal growth and advancement in a supportive, caring environment will hold an open house at the new Re-Focus, Inc. Community Center, 45 Greeley Street, Providence Thursday, Sept. 17 from 3 to 8 p.m.

The Re-Focus, Inc. Community Center is a handicapped-accessible facility delivering expanded services to clients and offering new families expanded services for their adult children’s futures. The new facility utilizes advances in technology, adaptive mobility and speech systems and the visual and creative arts so as to provide programming to include: technology; literacy learning; sensory repair and re-integration; healthy lifestyles with exercise, nutrition, and food preparation; personal expression through music, art, drumming, yoga and dance; hands-on practice for entrepreneurial ventures, community volunteer and job readiness trainings, and body work, massage, breathing, relaxation and meditation.

“We are so excited to be able to expand our services to our current clientele with a 2009-2011 roll-out to an additional 40 young adults transitioning from the state’s educational system. It’s a win for all concerned,” said Christine Kavanagh, RSM, Executive Director of Re-Focus, Inc. in a statement.
