Donna Ranucci, a finalist on the Rachel Ray Show and Coventry native, will sign copies of her book, “Donna’s Dishes: Cooking for a Cure” on Monday, Nov. 23 and Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kent County YMCA. Twenty percent of the proceeds from books sold at the signing will be donated to the Kent County YMCA Financial Assistance Fund.

Ranucci competed on the Rachel Ray show for three months, cooking for Ray and her culinary team. She has also participated in numerous charity events including the Parkinson's Walk-A-Thon APDA, The Alzheimer's Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Foundation, Strides for Breast Cancer, Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run and a book signing at Confreda Farms where the proceeds benefited the Rhode Island Food Bank.

In addition to selling more than 500 copies of her cookbook, Ranucci has also cooked on the Rhode Show. Upcoming events and charities she will be working with include: the MS Association, Autism Project, Tomorrow Fund, raising funds for the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation and the Kent County YMCA Scholarship Fund.

Her earliest memory of cooking was with her easy bake oven her mom and dad bought her when she was about 5 years old. Since then Ranucci’s love for cooking has turned into her passion.

Donna thanks her parents for teaching her to have courage, confidence, commitment and caring, everything she needed to be where she is today.
