Nula of Elite Physical Therapy receives URI achievement award

Longtime Rhode Islander and sole owner of Elite Physical Therapy in Rhode Island, Michael Nula was recently recognized at the University of Rhode Island’s fourth annual Distinguished Achievement Awards. The University’s Colleges recognized alumni for their many accomplishments. Nula received the Dean’s List Award from the University’s College of Human Science and Services.
Nula started Elite Physical Therapy seven years ago and has quickly grown into one of the top Physical Therapy practices in the state with locations in Warwick, Providence and Coventry. Elite utilizes various high-level “hands-on” treatment techniques in their state-of-the-art facilities and has helped thousands of Rhode Islanders with different musculoskeletal, back and neck and sports medicine problems including various state officials, college and professional athletes. His practice was recently nominated “Best Physical Therapy Practice” by a nationally recognized peer journal, Advance Magazine, and also serves as the only site in New England to host nationally recognized continuing education courses that train Physical Therapists across the country in advanced treatment techniques.
Nula received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 1996 and Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree in 2000. He is currently completing his doctorate at Temple University December 2009.
Nula is a passionate supporter in numerous local and national charity and benefit organizations. He is also a member of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Nula continues to contribute his time and expertise to the University of Rhode Island where he guest lectures and provides educational internship opportunities for soon-to-be Physical Therapists. He became the first Physical Therapy department alumnus to establish an endowment to the department for future growth and development. He resides in East Greenwich with his wife and three daughters.
