The Gallery at Art and Soul is now featuring work from three Rhode Island women through the end of November. An artists’ reception will be held this Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Art and Soul, 2007 Broad Street, Cranston. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk with an artist, enjoy light snacks and cider, and peruse a variety of fine art and craft.

The show features the works of Stacey Graham of Providence, Mary Spardello of Johnston and Mary Bradley of Warwick.

Graham has been painting in a variety of mediums since 1992. Her first love in painting is the figure. She places great value on capturing the mood of the moment through dynamic rich colors, bold shadows, and simple, repetitive shapes. More recently Stacey's paintings have evolved to include landscapes, flowers, and other natural themes. Her floral pieces have hard edges even though they represent the softness and delicacy of the natural world. Her encaustic landscapes and seascapes use vivid color and flow.

Spardello has been painting for most of her lifetime. Spardello paints from photographs with artistry and attention to detail. She does commission work, and has done portraits of Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Smokey Robinson, with whom she shares a close relationship. For the past 30 years she has been providing instruction in oil painting to children and adults.

Bradley is known for her incredible photography, and recently won 'Best of Show' at a Warwick Art Museum show. Mary's newest undertaking of floral scanning is incredible.

The Gallery at Art and Soul is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Gallery is available for meetings, small functions, and private parties by reservation. The gift shop features unique gift items, contemporary craft, home décor, jewelry, and garden art created by more than 140 American artists and artisans, many from Rhode Island.
