The common sense/obvious thing to do would be to look at an overall study by these subcommittees. I believe that RI State Law requires a closing of a school to be announced/decided upon by March 1st before the forthcoming education year(Sept.) in order to be effective.

From my perspective, the Warwick School Committee has been in denial since the 1990's; it seems apparent that student enrollment is on a continuing decline(no matter what the reasons). They are delaying the inevitable; Warwick will need to close one high school, one junior high school, & at LEAST one elementary school. It doesn't matter how one looks at it;whether you base it on a per student/pupil funding formula or a weighted formula( based on including special students), Warwick is likely to receive a smaller funding share/amount from the State of RI. There is no big bag of money likely to fall from the sky. Now is the time to make the necessary choices.
