Joseph...did I miss the part in your article wherein you describe how poverty is the direct result of choices made by individuals? The number one guarantee of poverty is single parent households from out of wedlock births. It is statistically a guarantee of poverty for girls to have babies out of wedlock. Trying to raise a child alone is incredibly difficult even with a great education. Most out of wedlock births are to women of poor education. This is the genesis to most poverty in America. It then is exacerbated in the schools because these single parents cannot discipline/control their kids. That is why schools perform poorly. Ask any teacher about parental control of children. They send undisciplined kids to class who have no respect for teachers. Of course nobody learns anything in that environment. It then perpetuates itself.
