Anne Ciunci celebrated her 101st birthday at Avalon Nursing in Conimicut Saturday with friends and family. She is the youngest of 11 children. Anne grew up in Providence and lived most of her life in Warwick. Her late husband, Vincent, owned and operated Gilbert Nurseries. She is a parishioner at St. Benedict Church, where she was active in the Daughters of Isabella. Anne is the mother of four, grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of 16 and great-great-grandmother of one. She attributes her longevity to being blessed by God. Anne was still in the mood to party after all her family left Saturday, so the Avalon staff rallied around to wish her happy birthday.
