Follow the yellow brick road to Bill Hanney’s award-winning Theatre By The Sea (TBTS) for “The Wizard of Oz.” This twister of a tale begins Wednesday, July 20 through Saturday, August 13.

The cast of “The Wizard of Oz” features three young Warwick actors as Munchkins, Calista Heart Aguinaldo and Emma and Eva Senerchia. Making her Theatre By The Sea debut, 10-year-old Calista Heart Aguinaldo is no stranger to the stages of Rhode Island. She has been seen in “A Christmas Carol” at Trinity Repertory Company, “The King and I” at Ocean State Theatre Company, “South Pacific” at The Granite Theatre, “Seussical The Musical” at Academy Players of Rhode Island, and “The Wizard of Oz” at Encore Repertory Company. Calista is passionate about dance and is a dancer at the Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio. She has performed in the Friars half-time show at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and twice at Disney World and has appeared in a commercial for Scholastic Books. Calista will be entering the 5th grade at St. Rose of Lima School in the fall.

Returning to TBTS, having played an orphan in Annie, 14-year-old Emma Senerchia has an extensive theatrical resume in the region. She has appeared in “A Christmas Carol” and “Oliver” at Trinity Repertory Company, “Yes, Virginia” at Ocean State Theatre Company, “Shrek Jr.” with Rhode Island Youth Theatre, and in “Annie Jr.” with St. Rose Drama. A vocal student of JP Ferragamo, Emma will be entering the 9th grade at La Salle Academy in the fall.

Thirteen-year-old Eva Senerchia also returns to TBTS this summer having played Molly in Annie. Eva has been seen in “The Sound of Music” at Ocean State Theatre Company, “A Christmas Carol” and Oliver at Trinity Repertory Company, “Thoroughly Modern Millie” as Millie with Rhode Island Youth Theatre, and “The Little Mermaid Jr.” with MCS Drama. A competitive dancer at Let’s Dance Studio, Eva studies voice with JP Ferragamo. She will be entering 8th grade in the fall at Saint Rose of Lima.

“Our production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ will be the perfect way to continue this fantastic summer we are having at Theatre By The Sea,” said TBTS owner and producer Bill Hanney. “Following our acclaimed record-breaking productions of “West Side Story” and “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story,” I am happy to say that we are anticipating many soldout performances for this show as well. Both the young and the young-at-heart will want to enjoy this show together and make some memories to last a lifetime!”

The cast of “The Wizard of Oz” features Devon Perry (Dorothy), Stephen Petrovich (Hunk/Scarecrow), Danny Rothman (Hickory/Tinman), Richard E. Waits (Zeke/Cowardly Lion), Maria Day (Almira Gultch/Wicked Witch of the West), Rochelle Smith (Glinda, Dog Handler), Tom Gleadow (Professor Marvel/Wizard of Oz), Barbara McElroy (Aunt Em), Tom Roberts (Uncle Henry/Winkie General), and Dusty and Nessa as Toto. The ensemble includes Annabella Barks, Colin Shea Denniston, Danielle Marie Gonzalez-Quevedo, Nicolette Hernandez, Karma Jenkins, Cody Knable, Tyler John Logan, Katie Lombardo, Davis Wayne and Josh Zacher.
