3 films about violent men trying to do good featured in Warwick Library series

Can a violent man be good? Or does brutality ruin him? See three thrillers about the consequences of violence on hard-hearted men at Warwick Public Library on Fridays, April 10, 17 and 24 at 7 p.m.

A History of Violence, starring Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello and Ed Harris will be shown on April 10. A husband and father who becomes a hero when he stops a robbery is visited by a mobster claiming that the husband has a dark criminal past.

On April 17, the library will show, Eastern Promises, starring Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts and Vincent Cassel. A midwife who stumbles onto an orphaned baby and a diary with evidence against a Russian mob boss is helped by the boss driver as she tries to find the infants family.

Drive, starring Ryan Gosling, Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman will be shown on April 24. A Hollywood stunt driver takes a job as the wheelman for a heist to help an ex-con free himself and his family from the criminal underworld.

All three films present adult situations, nudity, and violence.
