4 businesses help provide 60 baskets for Trudeau community

Posted

Thanks to local partners Mastery Martial Arts, Atrion, MetLife and Automated Business Solutions, Trudeau will be able to provide 60 food baskets for families that use their services.

Throughout November the four organizations have donated to Trudeau’s food drive, with non-perishables and gift cards to various grocery stores to ensure those families most in need from Trudeau could have something to look forward to this Thanksgiving season.

“We were blown away by the generosity of our community partners,” said Judith A. Sullivan, president and CEO of the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center. “This is a difficult time of year for many of our families and we are thrilled to be a part of making their Thanksgiving a little happier. We appreciate everything these companies have done to make a difference.”

Automated Business Solutions donated eight boxes of food as well as more than $300 worth of gift cards. Atrion donated several boxes worth of food as well as Stop & Shop gift certificates.

Mastery Martial Arts, which has partnered with Trudeau for several years to provide families with food baskets during the holiday season, donated nearly 500 food items to benefit Trudeau clients.

Susan Ricchiuti and Michael Pezzillo, who coordinate the food drive for Mastery Martial Arts, stated, “Mastery Martial Arts has been collecting donations of food for 11 years now for the Trudeau Center. It’s always rewarding as an organization to give back to the community and heartwarming to see the faces of the families when they open up their front door and see us holding baskets of food to give them a holiday they would normally never have.”

All of the baskets will be put together by Trudeau staff and volunteers and will be distributed to families by Nov. 24.
