... And still no recognition by the make-believe mayor for the parents of these 457 students who withstood two years of political posturing by the WTU to guide their kids in achieving honor roll success.

It is those parents, who actually pay taxes while residing in Warwick [unlike the make-believe mayor], who will be among the thousands of voters who reject his candidacy because of his union pandering and many other defects in his behavior that he has been so willing to provide on this website.

And why no recognition to the Hendricken students?

Another example of Corrente pandering. The only time he compliments Hendrickens graduates is when he doesn't read the actual article and comments accidentally, thinking they are public school students who he can pander to. The same way he ignores the sickouts that forced schools to close, the lack of field trips for all students for almost 3 years, no after school activities or help, and no college letters of recommendation. Oh yes, for the 4 or 5 months after the teachers got their contracts I'm sure they were wonderful. However, their students are the ones who ultimately suffered. The school committee doesn't have a great track record overall (not this particular group of elected officials, I'm speaking of perception/reputation) but the WTU's behavior wasn't much better during negotiations.

I have many teachers in my family, so I will not be called anti teacher or anti union. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge the WTU's behavior as leaving more to be desired is lying. They are not being honest or objective. You cannot say you are for the kids while calling out abd forcing school closures. That is not right. Congratulations you got your money, but the behavior to get there was embarassing. I hope the WTU takes a step back to rethink their hardball tactics in future contracts. The city cannot afford anything else.

    Dear critics,

The reason I only mentioned the Warwick Vets students is (as if you didn't already know) the above article is only about Warwick Vets students. And Scal1024 can call it pandering if he/she wants. I call it giving credit where credit is due.

    Happy Summer everyone.

Rick, not only is it the very definition of pandering, but students, parents and voters can easily see through your fraudulent behavior. Could you direct me to your congratulatory comments to Warwicks honor roll students BEFORE you declared yourself a candidate for Mayor? No such comments exist because the truth is you didn't care about honor roll students or any students, their parents or teachers. That's why I find it so hard to believe you suddenly care now. I also believe if we look into your record further, we will see you never spoke at budget hearings or school committee meetings until you declared for office.

Voters recognize a fraud when they see one. Rick Correntes behavior has shown him to either be ignorant on facts, or a blatant liar. What else would explain him claiming Warwick has 80,000 taxpayers ( its 80,000 residents- he has been corrected too many times to count and ignores facts), or his false claims on lost taxpayers or lost businesses in Warwick. So many false claims is not a coincidence. In just a little over 2 months time Warwick voters can send a message to Rick Corrente: We want HONEST candidates, who pay their fair share of taxes and PAY THEM ON TIME.

I'm sure Ricks response will be another predictable attack on me because that's all he can do. There is no defense for his empty rhetoric plans that will bankrupt our city. There is no defense for someone else paying his taxes (he claims no one ever has, despite city records showing otherwise). His attacks on me won't make any of his lies true, and it won't breathe ANY life into his FAILING, 4 year, $40,000+ campaign.
