Imagine Preschool based at the Knight Campus of CCRI has become the first Warwick preschool to be designated a 5-star preschool under the BrightStar system run by the Department of Health. A variety of measurements are used in designating stars, including teacher certification, environment, interaction with parents and curriculum. Mayor Scott Avedisian visited the facility Thursday to present a citation in recognition of the achievement and to help as preschooler William King cut out gold paper stars. A total of 178 preschools statewide are in the star system; only 14 have the 5-star designation. Imagine has an enrollment of 18 preschoolers and a staff of eight. Looking on are preschoolers Liam Donnelly and Shannon Olobri, education coordinator Andrea Weidele and director Simmi Carter.
