A green birthday…what else?

There was no better time to have some green eggs and ham that last Thursday, the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, than to visit the IHOP on Airport Road. Dr. Seuss was born on March 3 in 1904 and not so coincidentally, this March 2 was also the opening of Universal Studios’ The Lorax in local movie theaters. While the movie wasn’t a part of the plan for 37 Hoxsie first graders, breakfast at IHOP was thanks to the planning of their teachers Ali Kanaczet, Christine Ovalles and Meredith Andreozzi. Lots of help also came from Gail Comtois of the PTO and a grant from Target for cultural and arts programs. The kids came clad for the breakfast party and, appropriately, recited verses from some of Dr. Seuss’ popular stories. (Warwick Beacon photos)
