Albert E. Pontarelli, 82, of Warwick passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Brentwood Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Patricia C. (Bailey) Pontarelli for 55 years.
Born in Warwick, he was one of nine children born to the late Vincenzo and Mary (Ferretti) Pontarelli. Mr. Pontarelli was a United States Air Force retiree with the rank of Master Sergeant and served in the Rhode Island Air National Guard for 35 years and as a security guard at T.F. Green Facility for 2 years.
He was the loving father of Michael E. Pontarelli of West Warwick, Paul A. Pontarelli and his wife, Leslie of New Windsor, New York and Janice M. Murray and her husband, David of Cranston; the caring brother of William Pontarelli of Warwick; and cherished grandfather of four.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. from The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, East Greenwich. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7 pm.
