Albert S. Brightman, Jr., age 97, of Second Point Road, Warwick, died on Tuesday, May, 31, 2016, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence.

Born in Warwick, and a life-long resident, he was a son of the late Albert S. and Eva A. (Taber) Brightman. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Before retiring, Mr. Brightman was employed as a castings grinder at New England Malleable Iron Works. He was an avid golfer and a former member of Seaview Country Club. He had also been a baseball and softball pitcher.

He is survived by a brother, Earl R. Brightman of Scituate, RI; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alice M. Dunsmore, Mildred F. Normand, and Florence V. Maher.

A committal service, with military honors, will be held on Wednesday, June 8, at 11 a.m. in Brayton Cemetery, Post Road, Apponaug Village, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. www.barrettandcotter.com
