Aldrich Mansion and Estate will celebrate the holiday season beginning with their annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 6-9 p.m., followed by the Chapel Christmas Concert & Mansion Dessert Soiree on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 6-10 p.m. Admission is free to the Dec. 7 open house, which was attended by over 300 people last year. Organizers expect to double that attendance this year.
Hundreds of festive lights and decorations fill the rooms of the mansion, which is located at 836 Warwick Neck Ave. in Warwick. Parking is free and the building is handicap accessible. Complementary cookies, cider and cocoa will be served. As visitors tour the mansion, they will be entertained by the Wheeler School Hand Bell Ringers.
The highlight of this season’s Gilded Concert Series is the Chapel Christmas Concert and Mansion Dessert Soiree on Dec. 14. Doors in the on-site chapel open at 5:30 p.m., with the concert taking place from 6-7 p.m., featuring the Ecclesia Consort with the Saint Jude’s Children’s Choir, under the direction of Pierre Masse and featuring harpist Hyunjung Choi. They will be performing the world premiere of “A Ceremony of Carols for the Seasons of Advent and Christmas.”
A Dessert Soiree created by renowned chef Al Langeveld will be served from 7-10 p.m. next door in the mansion. Desserts, coffee and tea will be served in the festively decorated mansion. There will also be a cash bar.
Ticket prices for the Dec. 14 event are $22 for adults (plus surcharge) and $12 for children to age 9 and senior citizens. For reservations, call 1-800-838-3006, ext. 1, or go online at www.aldrichmansioneventsholiday.brownpapertickets.com.
