Anthony Balasco, 98, passed from this life peacefully on August 12, 2014. He was the husband for 60 years of the late Raffaela “Ella” (Pisaniello) Balasco.

He was the son of the late Vito and Jennie Balasco. He resided in Warwick for 55 years in the home he designed and built for his family before moving to The Seasons in East Greenwich. He was an architect and partner in the firm of Henry W. Markoff and Assoc. During World War II, he was a draftsman with the Army Corp of Engineers in Boston. He was a Fourth Degree member of the K of C, Hope Council. Anthony was an avid lover of music and a talented violin player and vocalist. During the 40’s, he performed in local venues with various bands, using the stage name “Bobby Balasco”. Until very recently, he enjoyed entertaining his friends at The Seasons with his piano playing, singing and story telling.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Denise Coppa and her husband, Michael Coppa, of North Kingstown and Ellen Balasco and her husband, Thomas Bartkiewicz of Saunderstown. He was the devoted and proud grandfather of Jason M. Coppa and Jesse R. Coppa. He was the father of the late Anthony C. Balasco; and brother of the late Helen DeCaporale, Edith Tasca, Virginia DiMuccio, Felix, Victor, David Balasco and Rudolph Belasco.

His funeral will be held Saturday, August 16, at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, Fair Street.
