Apponaug Pride 14U won the Championship at the CT Stealth Summer Challenge Tournament in Preston, Conn., this past weekend. The pitching staff of Amelia Beauchemin, Katelyn Hawes and Reilly Clancey were lights out. Alexis LeBelle, Becca Landry, Jordan Mernick, Julia Grossi, Meghan Reilly and Emily Goff provided clutch RBI hits to lead the team to a 6-0 record during the tournament. Catchers Sydney Alsfeld and Destinee Charette’s rock solid effort during the 90-degree temperatures was outstanding. The team has a 24-2 record over the last three tournaments.
