To the Editor:
The Gaspee Days parade was wonderful this year, as usual. The colonial militia with the fifers and drummers were so great to see. Why didn’t the crowd clap and cheer for them?
One of the marchers came over to the people and asked if they thought they were at a funeral, and couldn’t they show a little appreciation.
Try realizing these people practice all year, they acquire and maintain their instruments and uniforms. They get up in the middle of the night to get here, so why couldn’t you show your appreciation? Also, please put some money in the Gaspee Days collection buckets next time.
