There are some things in life that you can just set your clock to, like the sun rising in the morning, and setting at night. Like a busy morning at Buttonwoods Fish & Chips where every Friday, the Raferty family gathers to linger over breakfast. Whether there are just two, or a whole slew of them, Friday mornings at Buttonwoods Fish & Chips is a longstanding date for this large, multi-generational New England family, and there is no other place they would rather be. So if you want to share in a truly home style meal at this cozy eatery on Buttonwoods Avenue, be prepared to see a Raferty there – and be prepared to move over and make room for them!

As the years have gone by, many families and friends have made traditions like Friday mornings at Buttonwoods Fish & Chips a part of their weekly routine, and why not? Owner Tony and Jackie Fiore have made their welcoming and popular restaurant into the kind of place where people want to come to reconnect over a stack of fluffy pancakes, or a made-to-order omelet or a pocketed Belgium waffle, dripping with syrup and smothered with fresh fruit (and this is only getting started!). At Buttonwoods, the food is wholesome, affordable, made from scratch daily with only the freshest of ingredients ~ and the service is friendly . . . and comfortable. As soon as you pass through the doors, you know you have come home.

Buttonwoods Fish & Chips is a popular destination for diners throughout the entire region. Here, you will find not only a long list of hot-off-the-grill items off the breakfast menu, but lunch is just as enticing. You can choose from a large selection of such classic favorites as juicy hamburgers and hotdogs, traditional hot and cold sandwiches like BLTs (stuffed with bacon, bacon, bacon) or turkey melts, or buttery, grilled cheese or any number of chicken, seafood, egg or tuna salad sandwiches. There are summery, crisp salads and mouth-watering sides such as onion rings and salty fries as well. Hungry yet?

On Friday evenings, enjoy a varied menu of hearty and ever-changing American and Italian-style dishes ~ homemade meatloaf, Shepherd’s Pie, Stuffed Peppers, Fried Scallops, a tasty seafood platter and, of course, Buttonwood’s famous Fish & Chips. Buttonwoods is BYOB, so don’t forget to bring along your favorite bottle of wine to share!
