Barbara Jean Gremour

Barbara Jean Gremour, 69, of Greenbelt, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the loving companion of Raymond J. Medeiros of Little Compton for 34 years.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Albert C. Gremour and Mary E. (Flynn) Gremour. Barbara was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Home Economics & Child Development. Upon graduation, she joined the Peace Corps where she volunteered in Columbia. In her later years, Barbara worked as an Employment Investigator for the State of Maryland until her retirement. She loved spending time at the beach in Little Compton and was an avid folk music enthusiast. Barbara also attended Amicable Church in Tiverton. She was a proud 4H Alumni having been an active RI 4H member through her youth.

Besides her companion, she leaves her two loving sisters: Sandra L. Horan of North Kingstown and Paula E. Gremour of Pawtucket. She was aunt of Alicia M. Cranston of West Greenwich, Sean P. Horan of North Kingstown, Shamus D. Horan of Coventry, Kyle T. Horan of West Greenwich, and Kaitlyn T. Horan of North Kingstown. She also leaves several grand nieces and nephews.

A private family funeral service was held in the Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford. Burial was private.
