The Rhode Island Blood Center is celebrating its blood donors today, showing appreciation for being among the best donor groups in the country. Each blood donor today will receive a pound of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee as a thank you for their continuing support.
“We have an excellent donor base,” said Scott Asadorian, the Rhode Island Blood Center’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our collection rate is higher than the rest of the country, and as a result the hospitals we serve virtually never face a blood shortage, and their patients can be assured of a safe and adequate blood supply.
“While the real reward for blood donation is knowing that you’ve given someone life, given a family hope, we also wanted to say thank you in a very tangible way by giving donors the pound of coffee,” Asadorian said in a statement.
Donors at the Rhode Island Blood Center’s permanent locations and at all mobile blood drives will receive the pound of coffee. Blood drives are held around the state. To find a blood drive convenient to you, consult the Rhode Island Blood Center’s Web Site at www.ribc.org.
