'Bolts hand 'Canes fifth straight defeat
BILL BURR

The Warwick Vets hockey team was in action over the weekend, as it played Cranston East at Dennis Lynch Arena on Friday night.

The ’Canes couldn’t get much going offensively, as they fell 6-0. East goaltender Dominic DiBiase saved all 18 shots he faced. Vets got a strong showing from its own goaltender, John McNally, as he turned away 31 shots.

Vets is now 0-5 in Division III play, and has not scored since its first game of the season, a 4-3 overtime loss to Scituate. It will try to get back on the right track this Saturday when it plays defending D-III champion East Providence at 6:30 p.m. at Dennis Lynch.
