Mary Johnson, executive director of the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon, receives a $5,000 legislative grant from Warwick Senators William Walaska and Michael McCaffrey at a recent meeting of the Academic Decathlon Foundation, the fund-raising arm of the organization that annual conducts the competition open to all high schools in the state. The theme of the 2016 decathlon, which will be held March 20, is India.
