Breakfast treats in the making
OVEN READY: Brian Johnson of Pilgrim prepares to bake muffins.

First level students in the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center culinary program will keep tradition alive when they host a public May breakfast this Friday from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the center’s Tides Restaurant. Students have run the breakfast since the center opened 42 years ago. The buffet menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, home fries, bacon, ham, sausage, corned beef hash and a wide assortment of breakfast pastries. “We’ve never had anyone go away telling me they haven’t had enough to eat,” says instructor Eva Niosi. While students come from the city’s three high schools, Niosi says when they’re at the center they work as a team. In preparation for the breakfast students made pastries yesterday. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. They can be bought at the door. (Warwick Beacon photos)
