Two Warwick National teams went head to head for the National/American combined championship, and Brennan’s Braces finished off a 20-1 season with an 11-9 victory over Savage & Savage. Andrew Merryfield and Demitri Ayers pitched for Brennan’s. Dylan Palumbo and Nick Carparelli pitched for Savage. In the first inning Carparelli started the game with a single, and hits by Jack Hornstein and Palumbo gave Savage & Savage the early lead.
In the bottom of the first, Brennan’s scored four runs with hits by Ayers, Colin Lemieux, a walk by Tyler Brunelle, and doubles by Ryan Corrigan and Corey Olsen.
Brennan’s was on its way from there, winning the back-and-forth game by two runs.
Daniel Tanguay caught three innings and had a hit for Brennan’s. Joe Melucci, Jameson Tanguay, Freddie Jeranimo and Tyler Picozzi-Yates all played well for the champs.
