In Our Backyard

The Buckeye Brook Coalition will hold “In Our Backyard,” a historical and pictorial journey through the Buckeye Brook Watershed, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. and again Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. The presentation, which is free, includes a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation.

Warwick Figure Skaters

Warwick Figure Skaters will hold an open registration Sept. 21 from 10 a.m.-12 noon at Thayer Arena, 975 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Taste of the Tour Exhibit

Warwick Museum of Art (WMOA), 3259 Post Road, is helping West Bay Open Studios (WBOS) celebrate the 5th anniversary of their popular Studio Tours with a “taste of the tour” exhibit that runs through Oct. 2. Original works by 23 WBOS artists will be showcased in the main gallery and at four special events that are open to the public free of charge. Tonight’s exhibit is WBOS Artist Demonstrations from 5-7 p.m. Warwick artist Carole Berren will demonstrate watercolors, and other artists will show how they create fused glass, photography, hand-lettering, plein air oil painting and fiber art. Historic Cemetery Cleanup

Behind Picasso’s Pizza there is a historic cemetery, Warwick Cemetery #30 – called Hart Lot – at the end of Call St. in need of minor maintenance. Only one field stone can be seen. Brush and leaves have invaded the cemetery and need to be removed. Aphasia Conversation Group

The Village Singers

Donate Shop

The Donate Shop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit thrift store that provides free clothing to families in crisis. They are an all-volunteer organization that relies solely on the support of the community to continue this endeavor. The shop has a new location at 400 Warwick Ave., Unit #14, between Dunkin Donuts and Shaw’s.
