Meadowbrook Bingo

Meadowbrook Terrace, 2220 Warwick Ave., has bingo every Friday might at 6:30 p.m., featuring great prizes and a wonderful group of people. All are welcome.

Warwick Historical Society

The Warwick Historical Society meets weekly at the John Waterman Arnold House on Roger Williams Circle Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and every second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. All are welcome and urged to become a member and volunteer. Tri City Elks Events

Bingo Jan. 10 at 6:30 p.m.. Kitchen opens at 5.

Game dinner Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. $30 per person. Please come in and purchase your tickets before Jan. 15.

Running through June 9, Tri-City Elks #14 will be holding beginner line dance classes every Monday night from 7-8:30 p.m. at 1915 West Shore Road. All ages are welcomed. Cost is $6 per person. For more information call Lori at 821-4361 or the lodge at 737-9510.

OB Association Meeting

The Oakland Beach Association is holding their monthly meeting Jan. 9 (tonight) at 7 p.m. at the JONAH Center on Oakland Beach Ave. Guest speaker will be Walter Burke of the Bristol Parks & Recreational Department talking about “Taking better care of our beach.” Refreshments will be served.

Northeast Grange Leaders Conference

The Rhode Island State Grange will be hosting the 2014 Northeast Grange Leaders Conference from Jan. 10-12 at the Radisson Hotel, 2081 Post Road, Warwick. The conference is open to all Grange members that would like to attend. The conference registration fee is $10 per person, and all attendees must register. Room reservations must be made with the hotel by calling 739-3000. Be sure to mention Rhode Island State Grange when making reservations. The single or double occupancy rate is $79 per night plus tax. Check in time at the hotel is 3 p.m. Among the highlights of the conference will be breakout sessions in which different officers and department heads from the different states get together to exchange ideas to show what others are doing. There will be special workshops that will take place. Among the speakers at this conference from the National Grange staff will be Edward Luttrell, National Grange president, and Michael Martin, National Grange Leadership/Membership director. Voices of RI Meeting

The Voices of RI chapter of the Colon Cancer Alliance will hold their next monthly meeting at Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. in the small meeting room of the Warwick Public Library, 600 Sandy Lane. Ladies Auxiliary Meeting

William Shields Jr. American Legion Post #43 Ladies Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Post Home, 662 West Shore Road. All members are requested to attend.

Adult Art Classes

Warwick Museum of Art, 3259 Post Road, is holding adult art classes from January to March. The winter schedule of adult art classes has just been announced: Watercolors for Beginners runs January 14-30, Mixed Media & Collage runs February 4-20, and Watercolors for Intermediates runs February 25 through March 13. Classes will run for three weeks and meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 pm. Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter

The monthly meeting for Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter will be held Jan. 16 at the Pilgrim Senior Center, 27 Pilgrim Parkway (behind Benny’s on Warwick Avenue and near Pilgrim High School) at 6:30 p.m. They will be setting up dates for upcoming events. St. Rose of Lima Registration

St. Rose of Lima School, 200 Brentwood Ave., will begin new student registration for 2014-2015 for Grades Pre-K through 8, including the Rose Bud program for 3-year-olds, Jan. 21 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the school. St. Timothy’s Family Night

St. Timothy’s Church is holding a Family Night at Lemongrass Thai Vietnamese Cambodian & Chinese Cuisine, 1138 Post Road; Warwick, Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m. Donation is $20 adults, $10 children. Book Signing

Warwick artist and art historian Ann Eckert Brown will present a PowerPoint program on interior painted decorations in early Rhode Island houses at Linden Place in Bristol on Jan. 26. Save the Bay Open House

On Sunday, Feb. 9 from 2-4 p.m. there will be an open house at Save the Bay headquarters for marine science summer camp and Edgewood Sailing School youth and adult lessons. Come learn about joint sailing/marine science programs and other “learn to sail” activities. There will be a door prize. Save the Bay Drive, Fields Point, Providence.

Men’s Senior Softball

Registration is now underway for men 57 and over to join the Warwick Senior Softball League. It is a recreational league whose priorities are fun, safety and friendly competition. You do not have to be a Warwick resident to join. All games (double headers) begin at 9 a.m. and are played at City Park in Warwick on Wednesday mornings. The application fee is $20. Deadline for registration is March 15.
