Tri City Elks Events

Bingo March 21. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m., Bingo starts at 6:30. They will be serving fish and chips, fish sandwiches and burgers.

Buckeye Brook Coalition

Direct Fish Count

Training for the Buckeye Brook Coalition 12th Annual Direct Fish Count provided by R.I. Fish & Game will be held March 20 from 5-6 p.m. and March 22 from 10-11 a.m. Volunteers for this program are very important It requires very little of your time and helps provide such important data Please consider becoming involved this year It is very educational The training will take place both dates at Warwick Ave , where the brook passes by Park at the Knights of Columbus hall lower parking area Phil Edwards and Patrick Magee with R.I. Fish & Wildlife will be there to provide a 10-minute training session for the upcoming season.

Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter

The monthly meeting for Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter will be held March 20 at The Pilgrim Senior Center, 27 Pilgrim Parkway (behind Bennys on Warwick Avenue and near Pilgrim High School) at 6:30 p.m. They will be finalizing plans for their breakfast on April 5 and also the craft fair to be held on May 10. Donations are needed for the breakfast Contact Brenda at 467-2692 if you would like to donate an item or gift certificate for the breakfast. All public is invited to attend.

Norwood Neighborhood Association

A general meeting of the Norwood Neighborhood Association will be held March 20 at 7 p.m. at the Norwood Boys & Girls Club, 43 Frederick St. The guest speaker will be Mayor Scott Avedisian, who will provide an update on local and statewide activity Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

Warwick Figure Skaters Registration

Warwick Figure Skaters will hold an open registration for their spring programs March 22 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Thayer Arena, Sandy Lane, Warwick. Group lessons to begin April 10 are taught by professional instructors. More information is available on www.warwickfs.org.

Feeding Thousand of Children

On March 22 hundreds of Rhode Island community members will work to feed thousands of starving children in the developing world. Through a partnership between Christ Church and global hunger charity Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), volunteers will prepare 175,000 life-saving meals at an FMSC MobilePack event. The MobilePack will take place March 22 at Advantage Glass, 1560 Elmwood Ave., Cranston Community members can support this MobilePack by making a donation to cover meal costs or by volunteering to package food at the event They need to recruit 875 volunteers and raise 22 cents for each meal $38,500 total for this MobilePack. Blood Drive

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 449, 197 Providence St., West Warwick, will hold a blood drive sponsored by the RI Blood Center March 22 from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served Call 828-9715 for information.

Marys Way of the Cross

St Benedicts Young Adult Choir Keepin’ the Faith will present Mary’s Way of the Cross, Stations with reflections and music, March 23 at 7 p.m. at St. Benedict’s Church You are invited to enter an intimate journey of faith through the sorrowful heart of Mary and surrender to Gods will, just as she did.

Chicken & Pasta Luncheon

GFWC Meeting

The GFWC Warwick Women’s Club will hold its monthly meeting March 25 at 7 p.m. at Warwick Museum of Art, Post Road, Warwick. Members will be donating diapers, pull-ups, socks, etc. to Project Undercover. Refreshments will be available. Sampson Air Force Meeting

The monthly meeting of Sampson Air Force Base Veterans will be held March 25 at 1 p.m. All Air Force veterans, especially Sampson AFB vets, are welcome to the RI Sampson AFB Veterans Squadron. The squadron holds monthly luncheons on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Pinelli’s Italian Café, 701 Quaker Lane, West Warwick.

Trout Unlimited Meeting

The Narragansett Chapter of Trout Unlimited #225 will host its regular monthly meeting March 26 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Coventry/West Greenwich Elks, 42 Nooseneck Hill Road, West Greenwich. Lions Club Ham & Bean Supper

Free Community Lunch/Food Pantry

Corned Beef Supper

First Congregational Church of Warwick, 715 Oakland Beach Ave, is having an all you can eat corned beef supper March 29 from 4:30-7.  Cost for adults is $12, $5 for 21 and under. Children 5 and under are free. This all you can eat supper also includes homemade desserts, beverages and good company.  Come early.

The Big Skate

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State announced their annual Big Skate March 29 from 2-4 p.m. featuring free ice skating, crafts and refreshments. Representatives from the URI hockey team will also be on hand to skate with the kids at the Boss Ice Arena on the URI Kingston Campus. All attendees are encouraged to bring their own skates, as rentals may be limited. Participation in the Big Skate is free; however, an RSVP before March 15 is required. Benefit Concert & Dinner

The Mustard Seed Farm will be hosting a benefit concert and dinner beginning at 6 p.m. on March 29 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, sponsored by Cat Country, to help support an equine-assisted therapy program. The evening features blues legend, James Montgomery, Dynamic Sounds Unlimited, dinner/appetizer, silent auction, raffles and door prize The Mustard Seed Farm will be operating a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in East Greenwich that is dedicated to providing equine-assisted therapy for veterans, families and developmentally-challenged children. One of the programs called The Seeds of Courage Program is designed specifically for providing equine-assisted therapy and activities for veterans and emergency responders to support them in personal and professional development. Old England/New England Concert

East Greenwich Leisure Learning

Do you enjoy learning something new in a fun and friendly environment? East Greenwich Leisure Learning, membership organization now in its 36th year, welcomes interested adults, regardless of residency, to join them by registering for their upcoming six-week series of 12 lectures and programs The dates for the spring series are April 3, 10, 24 and May 1, 8 and15, with morning and afternoon presentation each day. Topics of lectures vary from the practical to the historical, especially Rhode Island history, and anything in between Programs are held at St Luke’s Parish House on the corner of Peirce and Church Sts.
