Buttonwoods Fish & Chips: Homemade food to comfort you this fall

Posted

The soft light of an early autumn evening has cast a golden glow across the dining room of Buttonwoods Fish & Chips, a cozy and welcoming restaurant on Buttonwoods Avenue. It is 6:00pm and every table at this popular eatery is already taken, though the meals are flowing quickly from the kitchen and the evening has just begun. As the night advances, the sconces on the newly painted wall turn on and the mood turns convivial and comfortable, just the way owners Jackie and Tony Fiore have worked so hard to make it feel for their growing list of loyal customers. Bring your loved ones down on a Friday night, and bask in the light, the company, and mostly, the great, homemade food of Buttonwoods Fish & Chips.

At Buttonwoods Fish & Chips, you will always find wholesome and affordable food that is made from scratch daily. Begin your day with something off the long breakfast menu, including many of your classic favorites such as fluffy pancakes and fruit-smothered waffles, perfectly seasoned homefries, savory omelettes, crispy bacon, homemade hash and various homebaked items. You also won't want to miss any of their daily specials with their bargain prices and rich flavors.

The lunch menu here at Buttonwoods is just as enticing. There are juicy hamburgers, hotdogs, traditional hot and cold sandwiches like BLTs and grilled cheese, as well as chicken, seafood, egg or tuna salads. The wieners and clam rolls are extremely popular but if you are craving something a little lighter, try one of their summery salads.

On Friday evenings, the Fiores have created the kind of dinner menu that rivals anything that could come from your grandmother's kitchen, with all the familiarity and flavors of true comfort foods. Choose from a varied menu of hearty dishes such as Grilled Swordfish Francaise, Fried Scallops, Baked Stuffed Sole and, of course, Buttonwood's famous Fish & Chips. There are always new "Friday Night Specials", including these perfect early-fall meals ~ a Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner (roasted turkey served with mashed potatoes, stuffing, steamy butternut squash and smothered with gravy) or their Stuffed Eggplant Casserole (stuffed with grilled spinach, fresh mozzarella cheese and basil, finished with homemade marinara sauce). To top off your evening, treat yourself to one of their indulgent desserts, including their Gourmet Raspberry Cream filled Lemon Cupcakes. Simply decadent.

Buttonwoods is BYOB, so don't forget to bring along your favorite bottle of wine to share!
