Carl G. Anderson, Jr., 89, a resident of West Bay Manor, formerly of Wellington Ave., Warwick died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Kent Regency Center in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of the late Judith (Tiernan) Anderson.

Born in Providence, Carl was a son of the late Carl G. and Clara (Monroe) Anderson, Sr. He was employed for many years as a machinist and tool maker at Vennerbeck & Clase Company. During World War II, Carl honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a Past Commander and Department Sergeant at Arms at the Elmwood American Legion, Post #60 and was a member of the post for 65 years. He was also an avid photographer.

Carl is survived by his beloved children: David C. Anderson and his wife, Susan of Cumberland and Carolyn A. Anderson of Ashland, Oregon; and three cherished grandchildren: Lauren Anderson, Caitlin O’Shea and Aiden O’Shea.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
