Catherine V. (Bailey) Malcolm

Catherine V. (Bailey) Malcolm, formerly of Warwick, RI passed away on September 2, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander Malcolm, to whom she was wed for 41 years.

Born in Providence in January, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Bailey and Clara E. (Bailey) Bailey. Mrs. Malcolm worked for the Outlet Co. before she retired in 1977. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Church in Apponaug for 60 years. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, bowling, Bingo, spending time with her family and friends and taking care of her home in Warwick before moving to Rehoboth to live with her daughter and her family in 2008.

She is survived by her three children, A. Russell Malcolm and his wife, Mary of Kingston, RI, Joan Donnelly and her late husband, Dennis of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and Robert Malcolm and his wife, Pauline of Warwick; four grandchildren, Steven Malcolm of Huntersville, North Carolina, Catherine Peabody of North Providence, Christel Donnelly of Norton, MA, Michael Donnelly of Attleboro, MA; and four great-grandchildren, Samantha and Riley Catherine Malcolm of Huntersville, NC and Aiden and Declan Peabody of North Providence, RI. She was the sister of the late Thomas Bailey and Clara M. Bailey, both of Warwick.

A Mass was celebrated in Catherine’s memory at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Warwick. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston was private. Funeral Arrangements were handled for the family by the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
