College club baseball district playoffs set for Mickey Stevens

Warwick will play host to some of the top collegiate club baseball teams in the region when the National Club Baseball Association’s District Playoffs come to Mickey Stevens this weekend.

The NCBA is the largest college competitive baseball club in the country. Four teams will converge on Warwick for the District Playoffs – Northeastern University, Sacred Heart University, Hofstra University and St. Joseph’s University.

The playoffs will be double-elimination and will run from Friday through Sunday. The first games are Friday at 7 p.m., with No. 1 Hofstra taking on No. 4 Sacred Heart on one field, and No. 2 Northeastern playing No. 3 St. Joe’s on another. The winners of those games will meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with losers’ bracket games at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday. The championship round is slated for 9 a.m. Sunday, with a winner-take-all game, if necessary, scheduled for 12 p.m. Sunday.
