Councilman puts on a spread for parents’ 66th anniversary

Warwick City Councilman Edgar Ladouceur made his parents 66th wedding anniversary special on a night that included fun, family and fine food.

Ladouceur and his wife Deborah picked up the Ward 5 councilman’s parents – Edgar J. and Cecile Bouley Ladouceur, who are among Warwick’s newest residents and live at St. Elizabeth Terrace on Warwick Neck Avenue – Saturday evening and drove to Meritage Restaurant in East Greenwich.

“No, it wasn’t a surprise,” Ladouceur said with a smile. “We planned it and wanted to have the party as close to their weeding day as possible.”

Ladouceur’s parents were married in Woonsocket on April 23, 1949 and later had two sons, Edgar and Donald. But because of family members’ busy work schedules, they decided to hold the milestone celebration last Saturday.

“Mom and Dad really enjoyed themselves,” Ladouceur said. “They had a good time and the [Meritage] manager treated them like royalty. He even sent special desserts to the table.”

His wife Deborah, son Ed and daughter Julie Ladouceur Murphy and her husband Philip and the councilman’s brother Donald Ladouceur and his wife Mary accompanied the councilman.

When will this guy stop? Even a personal family party he makes sure gets put in the paper. What is wrong with him or better question to ask. What is he up too. Something is VERY ODD about him!
