Couple indicted in dumbbell robbery

Posted

A couple, who were arrested and charged with hitting a Warwick woman in her home with a dumbbell and leaving her for dead, have been indicted for robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, eluding police and conspiracy by a Kent County Grand Jury yesterday.

The crime dates from June 8 of this year, when the couple hit her with the weight and left her unconscious on the floor while they robbed her house. According to the report, the woman pretended she was dead until the couple left the house and then called police. Warwick police stopped the car not far from the house and were questioning the couple when they sped off, leading the police on a high-speed chase to Richmond, where the vehicle went off the road.

Nasstassja Hampton, 25, of 13 Fairview Rd. in Warwick and

Prince Benjamin, 28, of 78 Graham St. in Biddeford, Maine, have been held without bail at the ACI since their arrest and are scheduled for arraignment in Superior Court on Sept. 13.

Criminal geniuses assaulting an innocent woman. Let's hope they're sent away for a very long time.
