The 4th Annual Crafting for Critters Christmas Craft Fair and Bake Sale will be held this Saturday at the Buttonwoods Community Center, 3027 West Shore Road, Warwick from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hosted by Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, over 40 vendors will be gathered under one roof selling their wares just in time for Christmas. Products for sale include stained glass, hand-knit accessories, handmade chocolates, art, handmade candles, crafts for animal lovers, handcrafted jewelry, essential oils, herbs and soaps, housewares, baked goods, all-natural dog treats, clothing and more. Admission is free. For more information, call 467-2692. Pets are not allowed inside this facility.
Proceeds benefit the homeless cats and dogs at the Warwick Animal Shelter, a non-profit organization that assists homeless animals at the Warwick Animal Shelter.
“Volunteers work all year to raise money to help the homeless animals in the shelter and provide for items not included in the City of Warwick’s budget,” said Judy Salvadore, president of the board of directors of the Friends of Warwick Animal Shelter. “We have purchased major capital improvements to the shelter and also fund spay/neuter surgeries, blood work, teeth cleanings/extractions, etc. Our mission is to support the animals waiting for a home.”
Adoptable dogs and cats can be viewed online at www.petfinder.com/shelters/RI59.html or on Facebook www.facebook.com/WarwickAnimalShelter. Volunteers are working particularly hard to find a home for Lux, an older dog that has been at the shelter since last year. The pitbull mix will make a special appearance at the craft fair in hopes of meeting his forever family.
