David R. Black, 71, of Warwick, passed away January 18, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital after a long illness.
He was the son of the late David G. and Rejane (Boulay) Black. Born in Fall River, and raised in Dartmouth, he had resided in Warwick for over 17 years. Prior to his retirement in 1999, he worked as an Inspector for Raytheon in Portsmouth for 40 years. Mr. Black enjoyed traveling and golfing.
Survivors include his companion, Ann P. Maglio of Warwick; his sister: Pauline Minstrell of Dartmouth; his niece, Mary E. Twomey, her husband, Joe and their 3 children of Westport; and several cousins. He was the brother of the late Marilyn A. Black.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 23, 2014 from The Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, Massachusetts at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 9:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
