Donald E. Williams, 76, with his family by his side, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick, RI. He was the loving husband of Joan M. (Cameron) Williams of West Kingston, RI.

He was born in Providence, RI to the late Irving and Elsie (Edwards) Williams. As a career, Don drove eighteen wheelers for Mann Chemical in Warwick. In his heyday, Don raced cars at Seekonk Speedway and was a Nascar enthusiast. He was a member and vice president of the Goldwing Motorcycle Club and loved to travel in his camper and camp in various states. He coached his daughter's softball team and continued coaching softball for years to follow. Most of all Don was a faithful and active church member at Riverpoint Advent Christian Church in West Warwick.

Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by seven children: Cathy Ellis, Donna Williams, Jeff Gallant, Robin Barsana, Trish Russell, Michael Williams, and Richard Gallant; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two sisters: Carol Mackisey and Nancy Truex. He is predeceased by his son, Robert Gallant; and two grandchildren.

A Celebration of Don’s Life will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI on Saturday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Remembrances may be shared at carpenterjenks.com
