Is the American Dream slipping away for too many Rhode Islanders? Recent data finds that many workers cannot afford to make ends meet every month, let alone put money away for emergencies, a home, college or retirement.

The Economic Progress Institute will hold its sixth annual Rhode Map conference on March 28. Join outspoken economist Dean Baker and other panelists to learn how Rhode Island is faring in todays economy, and to discuss policies that will help all working Rhode Islanders fend off poverty, get ahead and save for the future.

One special feature of the conference will be an opportunity for those attending to submit questions for panelists ahead of time to help shape and facilitate the discussion. Questions can be submitted at info@economicprogressri.org.

The event will be held at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Breakfast is included.

For more information about the Economic Progress Institute, visit the website at www.economicprogressri.org. Admission is $40. Group rates of $30 each are available for purchases of five or more tickets.

Isn't $40 a little steep for poor people.
