Edward H. Berube, Sr., age 85, of Narragansett Parkway, Warwick, passed away in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on August 30, 2015. He was the husband of Margaret M. (MacDonald) Berube. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on August 14.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Edward H. and Lea (Lizotte) Berube, he lived in Warwick for most of his life. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War era. Mr. Berube was formerly the Resident Vice President of the Rhode Island branch of the General Accident Insurance Company of America. He was active in the Insurance Industry for over fifty years. He served on the Rhode Island Governors Insurance Council for several years, and was a past-president of the Rhode Island Insurance Fieldmens Association. Mr. Berube was an avid sailor since his youth, and was a past member of the Rhode Island Yacht Club. He was a communicant of St. Peter Church in Warwick.

Besides his wife, he leaves six children, Barbara A. Berube of North Providence, William E. Berube of Rochester, NY, Edward H. Berube of Kingston, Cynthia M. Berube of Lincoln, Brenda L. Martino of Woonsocket, and Stephen J. Berube of Warwick; a sister, Gloria Vargas of Arizona; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Russell J. Berube.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 5, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
