Elmer J. “Dick” Charette

Elmer J. “Dick” Charette, 81, died Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Jean A. (LaFleur) Charette.

He was a son of the late Charles E. and Ethel M. (Stone) Charette. Dick was employed as a technician with the Federal Aviation Admin. at T.F. Greene Airport for 39 years, retiring in 2003. He was an Army veteran serving in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. An antique car enthusiast, he was well known for his ‘36 Ford. He was a member of the FOP Lodge 26 and served as Vice President. He is also survived by his son, Timothy C. Charette and wife Elizabeth and his daughter, Karen H. Sechio and husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Ryan Charette, Ian and Hudson Sechio. He was the brother of the late Pearl Butterworth.

His funeral will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 9:00 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, Cowesett Rd. Burial with Military honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm.
