Ernest A. Sheridan, 86, passed away peacefully March 14, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joan V. (Gillooly) Sheridan for 60 years.

He was a son of the late Edwin and Mary “Bernetta” (Brown) Sheridan. Mr. Sheridan was employed as an overhead line supervisor for Narragansett Electric for 43 years before retiring. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the William Shields American Legion Post #43, Pawtuxet Athletic Club and the Holy Name School Alumni Association. He was a lifelong boating and fishing enthusiast.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons Michael (Maureen) Sheridan and Brian C. (Debra) Sheridan and one daughter, Colleen S. (Thomas) Arruda; one brother Richard Sheridan; six grandchildren, Brian, Jaclyn, Matthew, Kimberly Sheridan, Sophia and Carter Arruda; one great- grandson Aiden Sheridan. He was the brother of the late Edwin Sheridan.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery.
