(Faster and more furious)

This series goes on and on, getting faster and more furious with each episode. There are car, truck and even tank and jet plane chases and crashes that reach new heights.

The popular gang is back together again, coming out of hiding to help catch a dangerous terrorist, save the world and get pardoned.

The movie opens before the credits with an exciting race along narrow, ocean-side roads, then provides a montage of past adventures before assembling the team once again.

The cars are the stars, along with the stoic Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and the usual team of fast-talking, fast-driving characters.

Joyce missed some of the humorous interplay among the team members, as the slim plot gets a bit darker than usual. She was also turned off with the overdone, endless fighting. The women get a chance to brutally battle hand to hand.

Dom (Diesel) is shocked to learn that his long lost love Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is still alive, but has amnesia and has hooked up with one evil dude (Luke Evans) to steal vital parts of some kind of contraption that will give him world domination.

Watching cars chasing a tank down the interstate is exciting, as is the long conclusion that has the team chasing after a huge jet, where the runway seems to be as long as Route 95 between Boston and Providence.

This is mindless entertainment, folks, but I can’t help but be fascinated with the stunt men and women and the tricky camera work that provide some very exciting moments. Bodies fall from heights and are battered endlessly, but everyone gets up and walks away with nary a scratch. It is pure fantasy, but it does keep you watching. Of course, things are left wide open for a seventh “Fast & Furious.”

Rated PG-13, with outlandish violence. I only heard the F word once, which qualifies for a PG-13 rating.
