Mayor Scott Avedisian has ordered that all city flags be flown at half-staff now through December 6 in memory of the late Walter F. Richardson. Richardson served as the Ward 2 City Councilman from 1952 to 1972 and also served as the city’s Economic Development Director. A Navy veteran of World War II, Richardson was the founder of Warwick-based Coffeetime, Inc. He also served as a used car manager at Norwood Motors Chevrolet for 25 years, and was a partner at Airport Auto Sales and Main Street Motors. Walter died Friday, Nov. 30 and is survived by his wife, Marilyn, their two children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
