Who were the stars on the big screen when Warwick Public Library started in 1965?
Flash back to the heyday of Elvis, Peter Sellers, Doris Day, Rock Hudson and a young James Garner and Julie Andrews in a 1965 film series at the library on Thursdays, August 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 7 p.m.
On August 6, savor the charisma and allure of Elvis and Ann-Margaret in Viva Las Vegas. Racecar driving Elvis takes a job as a casino waiter to buy a new racing engine for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix.
On August 13, laugh until you cry at A Shot in the Dark, starring Peter Sellers and Elke Sommer. Inspector Clouseau stumbles and bumbles his way through a series of murders in the best of the Pink Panther movies.
On August 20 it’s the lighthearted romance Send Me No Flowers, starring Rock Hudson and Doris Day. When hypochondriac George believes he’s terminally ill, he searches for a new mate for his wife, Judy.
On August 27 Julie Andrews and James Garner star in The Americanization of Emily. A self-protective WWII U.S. naval officer strives to win the heart of a self-sacrificing British war widow.
