Francis J. Dwyer, age 89, of Cole Farm Road, Warwick, died on Monday, March 23, 2015, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Emma R. “Tina” (Galloway) Dwyer.

Born in Sneem, County Kerry, Ireland, a son of the late Patrick and Mary (Sullivan) Dwyer, he moved from Ireland to New York in 1947. A summer resident of Warwick for many years, he became a year-round resident in 1990. Mr. Dwyer was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Dwyer was employed by the City of New York, Department of Housing, Division of Code Enforcement, for 25 years, retiring as Chief Inspector in 1990. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New York.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Maureen Dwyer Hardink of Warwick and Margaret Dwyer Bock of Milford, Connecticut; three grandchildren, Kerri Marceau, Keenan Bock, and Aislinn Bock; a great grandson, Evan Dwyer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, Michael Francis Dwyer; and eleven brothers and sisters.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
