Francis J. "Frank" Joseph, 95, of Providence, formerly of Johnston, passed away on November 30th, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth E. (Nordquist) Joseph with whom Frank spent 64 years.

He was the son of the late Frank & Pauline (Patrick) Joseph of Providence. Frank worked in the family business "Pauline's Pastries; was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II; worked for Sikorsky Helicopters, Bridgeport, CT., ITT/Intelex Corp. from the first day of opening of the first automated US Post Office in Providence, RI as well as TMI, Lincoln, RI. An active Catholic, he was a Trustee and parishioner of St. Brigid's Parish, Johnston, for more than 60 years, and a member of St. Brigid's Holy Name Society.

Frank enjoyed reading, music and movies, and his favorite vacations began by getting into his car with his wife and traveling the roads throughout New England. He will be remembered for staying current with news and worlds politics and as devoted to his wife, his faith and his family.

Frank is survived by six children: Frank J. of Silver Spring, Maryland, Stephen W. of Fenton, Missouri, James E. & wife, Gabriela, lately of American Samoa, Maria R. Soares & her husband, John of Lincoln, R.I., Thomas A. & his wife, Jeannine of Little Compton, R.I. and Christina L. Jacobsen & her husband, Eric of Northridge, California. He is survived by six grandchildren: US Army Sergeant First Class Jeffery Z. Joseph of Colorado; Matthew J. Soares of R.I.; Danielle and Stephanie Joseph of R.I.; Kyle and Evan Jacobsen of CA; as well as three great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his sisters Vera Larsen of Woonsocket and Shirley "Lee" Matlick of Newport News, Virginia; and a son, Dale Michael Joseph.

His funeral is Friday at 8:45 a.m. from ''Woodlawn'' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church, Johnston. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-7 p.m.
