Free pancakes at IHOP on March 3 will support Hasbro Children’s Hospital

Posted

On Tuesday, March 3, local IHOP restaurants will once again offer each guest a free short stack of their famous buttermilk pancakes as part of National Pancake Day. The family-friendly tradition helps to raise much-needed funds and awareness for Hasbro Children’s Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

For every short stack of buttermilk pancakes served on National Pancake Day between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., IHOP guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to Hasbro Children’s Hospital to celebrate the initiative’s “Decade of Giving.” Since 2006, IHOP National Pancake Day has raised nearly $13 million to provide life-saving treatment, programs, and medical equipment for pediatric patients and their families. In Rhode Island, these funds continue to enhance the more than 130,000 total patient visits that occur annually at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“National Pancake Day provides a great opportunity for members of the community to support Hasbro Children’s Hospital while enjoying a special treat of their own,” said Dr. Patricia Flanagan, Interim Pediatrician-in-Chief for Hasbro Children’s Hospital. “We are so grateful to IHOP for making our hospital a focus of their local fundraising efforts; every dollar we receive is crucial to our ability to provide the best care possible to the children and families who depend on us.”

In the weeks leading up to National Pancake Day, participating IHOP restaurants will also sell “Miracle Balloons” for $1 and $5 to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals like Hasbro Children’s Hospital. The balloons will be available through National Pancake Day, and all proceeds will go directly to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Guests who purchase a $5 “Miracle Balloon” will receive a $5 discount coupon that can be used during their next dining visit.

Participating IHOP restaurants include:

Attleboro: 383 Washington Street

Middletown: 159 West Main Road

Providence: 45 Pleasant Valley Parkway

Warwick: 1802 Post Road
