Funny 4 Fund$ event to benefit Literacy Volunteers of Kent County

Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) will host a comedy night fundraiser with the Funny 4 Fund$ comedians on September 30 at Club Jogues located at 184 Boston St. in Coventry. The headliner is the sidesplitting Billy Simas, and two other hilarious comics will be featured as well. Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) celebrates over 35 years of service to Kent County teaching illiterate adults free of charge.

Tickets are $25, buffet included. There will also be baskets raffled and a 50/50 raffle. Generous sponsors and donors include BankRI, Dr. Richard and Karen Liner, George Sommerer, Royal Nails Spa, and Taco Bell of Coventry to name only a few. Literacy Volunteers of Kent County, Inc. (LVKC) is an accredited non-profit affiliate of ProLiteracy, Inc. with 501(c)3 status. The organization trains volunteers to tutor adults whose limited English literacy skills prevent them from functioning effectively in their homes, workplaces, communities, or as citizens of the United States. Tutoring by volunteers is free of charge, is confidential, and is typically done on a one-to-one basis. LVKC does not discriminate on the basis of gender, age, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, marital or familial status.
